A short BTS video I made of my latest shoot! The weather was amazing and I stepped out of my comfort zone by shooting in harsh afternoon sunlight. We were waiting for a beautiful sunset but the sun just disappeared behind the clouds...Oh well, at least I caught the moment before.

A few weeks ago I made a video and photos for my Zalando entry (see blog &

). I wanted to talk more about the makeup look I chose for this shoot. I asked my friend Amel (mel's beat face) what she thought was a modern meets arabic makeup look. She sent me an image of a Kim Kardashian smokey eye with a twist - a reverse smokey eye:

I decided to change up the lipsticks during the shoot

and used a nude, a dark grey and a darker dusty rose. I also drew on some berber tattoos with a gel liner.

PHOTOGRAPHY / FAIRY LIGHTS (before and after!)

Tis the season for fairy lights! As the days get colder and shorter, these lights make everything feel so cozy! I wanted to recreate Brandon Woelfel's signature editing style and photos with fairy lights, but still make it my own. I love how these turned out! The lights are very cool toned which gives the photos an overall blue color. I played with the blacks to give it a more matte feel, used a lot of sharpening, dodging and burning and changed the colors in the HSL panel in Lightroom. I really just played around until I was happy with the results. I love experimenting! What do you guys think?

Before and after:

The power of lightroom and photoshop!

FASHION / MODERN MEETS MOROCCAN LOOKBOOK (Zalando Style Icons // Creative Content Icon)

This is my entry for the Zalando Style Icons // Creative Content Icon Award.

For this lookbook I was inspired by my rich and beautiful moroccan heritage, as I am half moroccan and half belgian. I mixed a lot of traditional items and looks such as baboushes, the caftan, silver jewelry, berber tattoos,...with modern items to create a different and interesting combination. The whole concept just came together and it's definitely a statement on connection and unity in a time where this is really needed. I teamed up with a designer with moroccan roots and added some pieces I borrowed from my mom. Tradition meets reinvention, patterns meet minimalism, cultures meet each other. I also chose this subject for my entry because I want to show that having different origins and cultures is a beautiful thing and it enriches our lives if we let it.

Show it and celebrate it

I did the photography, videography, editing, makeup, styling and art direction. So proud of the result!

fashion / cap

I am absolutely loving the CAP trend. I never liked caps on me but I decided to try out this grey one. It's perfect to put on when you have a bad hair day, when you want to be casual but fashionable or when you don't have a lot of time to chose an outfit. it goes with anything - make your outfit more sporty & casual by wearing it with sneakers and joggings or make a statement by mixing it with heels and some jewelry. It's so versatile and classy! (and good to hide your face under)

makeup / Golden Bronze by Amel

Last sunday my talented friend Amel (find here Facebook page here) did my makeup. She went for a beautiful bronzed and glowy look. I put on so much self tanner all over my face - neck & shoulders to appear more bronzed haha! (I'm so pale). I love how the look turned out! the mink lashes, the photoshop like face, the glitter eyeshadow, everything!
If you want to know what products she used visit her page (see above) and her instagram here

makeup / glam & gore

"How far would you go to look perfect?"
A question that inspired me to make this glam & gore makeup look.

I began with a signature Kim Kardashian look: a lot of contour & highlight, smokey eyes, perfect brows and full overdrawn lips.

For the 'gore' part I began drawing on and around the parts that I would like to change. I used a purple, black, brown and red eyeshadow to give the impression of bruises around the lines and added some fake blood.

make-up / pink spring

Last week the weather here in Belgium was amazing! The sun was shining and all the flowers were blooming - the perfect time for a spring look! I went for a simple pink & brown eye look with a soft eyeliner and a lot of mascara. Some contouring, blush, a lot of highlighter and two tone pink lips. I made the look a little more special by adding some silver & gold glitter on my cheeks and nose, mimicking freckles. This made the look a lot more festival and fairy like. The flower crown (H&M) really finished off the look.

Face: Catrice CC cream - Catrice concealer - Sleek face form contour, blush - The Balm Mary Lou Manizer highlighter
Eyebrows: ELF eyebrow kit
Eyes: Catrice & Urban Decay Naked - Benefit They're real mascara - Chanel eyeliner
Lips: Catrice lipstick & NYX lipgloss
Glitter: Essence liner

fashion / choker

These last few weeks I have found myself obsessing over one of the lastest (returning) trends: the 90's inspired choker. Funny how I wore this when I was about 12 and now I'm wearing it again! I bought this one from H&M and I love layering it with a lot of fine necklaces. Absolutely one of my favorite trends of the moment! Pair it with some round sunglasses for that boho vibe or wear it with an oversized demin jacket for a touch of grunge.

make-up / arabic smokey by Amel

Last weekend I got my make-up done by the amazing MUA Amel (Mel's face beat on Facebook). She created 2 looks on me and the was the second one: an Arabic smokey eye. I absolutely love her work! she's based in Belgium and only uses the best high-end products: Armani, Nars, Hourglass, MAC, Chanel,...Check her out! It was also the perfect opportunity to test out my new studio lighting and backdrop.

photography / love & harmony

Last week I spent 3 days in the beautiful Tanger and shot the new Love & Harmony dress collection. It was short but amazing and the pictures turned out magical! You can see them all on I'm going to post my impressions of Tanger and Asilah soon!

Dresses: Love & Harmony
Models: Alexandra Schouteden & Justine Szpringer

fashion / bjorn borg x upr

I love minimalism, black and street style. When UPR asked me if I wanted to receive a Bjorn Borg piece I didn't hesitate. I fell in love with this see-through mesh sweater: a perfect balance of sporty, urban and rock!. I styled it with a bandeau top, some black joggers and a rucksack. I put my hair in braids to accentuate the urban-sporty feel and went for a simple make-up look that focuses on the ombre lips. In photoshop I tried something different and added some doodling on my face to resemble tattoo art. I love it, do you?

Sweater: Bjorn Borg / Joggers: H&M / Rucksack: Boohoo

TRAVEL / OOTD 16.12.15

While in Morocco, the best place to spend your day is on the rooftop terrace (sta7). In the middle of winter the sun burns on your skin and the sky is always blue. You have an amazing view over the city and it's a great place to take photos!.

Jeans: Bershka / Hoodie: H&M
